1. Introduction
SQuEN ("we", "us", or "our") is an AI career assessment platform that helps professionals assess and improve their Skills, Qualifications, Experience and Network. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our website and services.
SQuEN does not require you to create an account. You can complete a career assessment entirely on your own, without providing any personal details. We keep information collection to the minimum needed to deliver the service and the optional follow-ups you ask for.
By using SQuEN, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the service.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly and information generated through your use of the service:
- Assessment data: Responses you provide during career assessments, including skills, qualifications, experience details and network information. You are not required to enter your name or email to complete an assessment.
- Contact details: Your email address (and optionally your first name) when you choose to receive your report by email, join the early-access waitlist, or subscribe to our product updates.
- Usage data: Pages visited, features used, time spent and interaction patterns to improve the product.
- Device and security information: Browser type, operating system, and IP address, and the outcome of hCaptcha verification, used for security and abuse prevention.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To calculate your SQuEN score and provide personalised career insights.
- To generate AI-powered insights: your assessment answers and general career context are processed by our AI provider to produce your career identity review.
- To email you your PDF report and, if you asked us to, a 90-day reassessment reminder.
- To add you to the early-access waitlist and send you the relevant product updates.
- To operate, maintain and improve the SQuEN platform.
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse and security incidents.
We will never sell your personal data to third parties, including recruiters or employers.
4. Data Sharing
We do not share your personal information with third parties except in the following cases:
- Service providers: Trusted vendors who help us operate the platform, bound by data processing obligations: Supabase (database and hosting), Vercel (deployment), Resend (email delivery), EmailOctopus (early-access and newsletter list), xAI (AI generation) and hCaptcha (abuse prevention).
- With your consent: When you explicitly choose to share your SQuEN results or profile.
- Legal requirements: When required by law, regulation or valid legal process.
5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls and routine security reviews. While no method of transmission is 100% secure, we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Delete your personal data. Because SQuEN has no accounts, deletion requests are handled by email — including for the assessment data linked to your email address.
- Unsubscribe instantly from any email list. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link that removes your contact details from our mailing provider and our records.
- Object to processing of your data for certain purposes.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contact@mysquen.com.
7. Data Retention
We retain your data only for as long as needed to provide the service and the optional follow-ups you have requested. Assessment data linked to an email address is retained so a reassessment reminder can be delivered; when you unsubscribe or request deletion, linked assessment data is anonymised and removed. Records may be kept where retention is required by law.
8. Cookies and Local Storage
SQuEN sets a single functional cookie to remember your consent choice in our cookie banner. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Your in-progress assessment is held in your browser's local storage so you can recover it on the same device. See our Cookie Policy for full details.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or prominent notice on the platform. Continued use of SQuEN after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
